Two things are really connecting me to the messages--the thoughts you share for introspection and the words of encouragement. I've been in church/preaching ministry for 45+ years but this past year I haven't been preaching regularly which is a passion of mine. The elders felt like they needed a younger guy to be in the pulpit and frankly, I felt pushed aside. I'm the church's pastoral minister and I want to encourage our pulpit minister but it just hurts. Any encouragement at all blesses me, particularly your words of affirmation to those of us who get discouraged.

Paul, this is very helpful. Thank for passing on these specifics to me. -- I"m very sorry regarding the situation in your congregation. This has to be very hard and discouraging. Your most recent situation does not negate the 45 years of ministry you have done. You have, no doubt, done so much good during these decades. God will continue to use those years and even this challenging year. May God richly bless you, Paul.
