Life goes through basic definitional changes in 10-year increments. The way you think about life will need to change with these things.

I'm glad you mentioned this. I think back to my own life and my "external life" has experienced a lot of change. (Move, change in my ministry, death of both parents, etc.) There is a kind of stamina that I think I need at this point in life that maybe I didn't see the need for years ago. --

I think this is true -- God keeps building our faith in him, "brick by brick." Whatever we learned in the past and however we grew in the Lord, matters. However, depending upon what we go through in life, we may be more encouraged by different aspects of his character than other people might be. Just began reading Rich Villodas "The Deeply Formed Life." The title alone was what attracted me to the book.

I sure don't have this figured out. However, I do believe that basically in this broken world, life is hard -- and sometimes VERY hard. As we experience this in our journey, we may find that our internal selves are going to need more attention. -- Jim
